2017 Grant Recipients

Organizations that have received grants from the Golden Civic Foundation impact nearly everyone living in Golden and beyond.  We are proud of the investments in our community and the significance we’ve all enjoyed because of them.

  • American Alpine Club Library & American Mountaineering Museum- Help fund a traveling educational exhibit to increase awareness of the museum and library in Golden.

  • Bell Middle School – Helped with the purchase of choir chairs, new music, and equipment for Bell’s musical theater and choir groups.

  • Buffalo Bill Days – Help fund Cody’s Wild West Show and entertainment on the main stage.

  • CASA of Jefferson & Gilpin Counties – Help fund the Fostering Futures Project for Golden kids in need of the program.

  • Christian Action Guild – Help support a gift card program.

  • Colorado Cowboy Gathering – Support School Outreach Program to perform at Golden area schools.

  • Colorado Fourteeners Initiative – Help with costs associated with obtaining new heavy-duty aluminum tripods to construct the Highline tram system for hauling rocks for their projects.

  • Colorado Mountain Club – Fund supplies for CMC’s Youth Education Program and financial assistance for Golden students during the spring of 2017.

  • Colorado Railroad Museum – Purchase archival storage materials for library and artifacts collection.

  • Colorado Trail Foundation – Purchase a new notebook computer for the Executive Director.

  • Compass Montessori School (Golden Campus) – Fund necessary structural and system improvements of the student-run Farm Stand and help purchase and install a bike rack for the High School.

  • Continental Divide Trail Coalition – Materials and program support for the CDT Trail Adopter Program.

  • Coral Creek Music Project – Help expand their single-school pilot initiative to all Golden Elementary Schools.

  • Family Tree – Support Family Tree’s Homelessness Program.

  • GoFarm – Purchase special equipment that is needed to accept EBT/SNAP payments.

  • Golden Backpack Program – Purchase food for hungry kids in Golden.

  • Golden Chamber of Commerce – Help fund Olde Golden Christmas expenses.

  • Golden Community Choir – Fund scholarships to community members who are not able to afford choir membership dues and music fees and help with purchase of promotional materials for concerts.

  • Golden Fire Department – Provide assistance in purchasing three replacement rescue mannequins.

  • Golden High After Prom – Provide a scholarship to the GHS After Prom.

  • Golden High School – Provide assistance in purchasing CPR equipment/Life Packs and also help fund the addition of picnic tables on campus.

  • Golden Landmarks Association – Help with the purchase of new storage cases, exhibition tent and technology.

  • Golden Optimists Club – Help to fund an outdoor space for community bike repair and purchase exterior storage as part of the larger project of establishing the Golden Optimists Bicycle Recycle Program on the campus of Connections Learning Center (CLC).

  • Golden Police Department – Help with costs associated with the 18th Annual Golden Night Out Event in August.

  • Golden Schools Foundation – Help support costs associated with the GSF’s Summer Boot Camps.

  • Jefferson County Library Foundation – Help purchase materials and supplies for the 2017 DIYLab demonstrations, workshops, and open labs.

  • Jefferson Symphony Orchestra – Fund the first-place award for the International Young Artist’s Competition (IYAC).

  • Kyffin Elementary School – Purchase fiction-level book sets.

  • Leadership Golden – Help pay for historic record archiving and purchase a LCD projector.

  • Miners Alley Playhouse – Help fund a new mural painting on the outer lobby wall facing the large windows on 13th St.

  • Mitchell Elementary School – Help purchase furniture and materials for a new Inquiry Space (in the library) to support students in critical thinking.

  • Neighborhood Rehab Project – Assist in purchasing building supplies needed for home repairs for seniors, disabled, and low-income residents in our Golden community.

  • Outdoor Lab Foundation – Help with program support at both sites for Golden public and charter school students.

  • Pleasant View Elementary School – Help with funding of renovations and purchasing of materials, meal cards, crockpots and kitchen items to support the Pleasant View Parent Academy program.

  • Red Rocks Community College – Provide one $2,000 scholarship to attend Red Rocks Community College for the 2017-2018 academic year that will be awarded to a student who resides in the Golden community.

  • Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum – Assist with signage, marketing materials and technology at their new location.

  • Shelton Elementary School – Purchase Chromebooks, iPads, and Non-Fiction Books.

  • Welchester Elementary School – Support their Positive Behavior Support Program, teacher recognition and excellence, and other personnel needs.
