Dave Powers
has over forty-five years of experience in college administration, fundraising, and
consulting. From 1995 to 2003, he served as Senior Consulting Vice
President for Grenzebach, Glier & Associates, Inc. (GG&A -
Chicago). His clients included
the Denver Botanic Gardens, University of Wyoming, Western State College,
and University of Southern Mississippi College of Science and Technology.
He also served on project teams for Brigham
Young University, the United States Naval Academy, Pennsylvania State University,
and other institutions of higher education.
Prior
to joining GG&A, Dave was Vice President for Institutional
Advancement at Colorado School of Mines (CSM), presiding over a highly successful,
$60-million campaign. The campaign
exceeded its goal one year ahead of schedule yielding nearly $73 million. He also
prepared an institutional communications plan for the school.
Dave
has also held executive positions in fundraising at:

University, Lewisburg, Pennsylvania (1984 - 1988)
- Colby-Sawyer
College, New London, New Hampshire (1973 - 1984)
- St.
Paul's School, Concord, New Hampshire (1971 - 1973)
- St.
Lawrence University, Canton, New York, (1958 - 1971)
An
active professional in the field, Dave has made numerous presentations at fundraising
conferences and seminars throughout the United States. HIs development-related
volunteer leadership and service include board membership for such organizations
as the National Easter Seal Society (Chicago, Illinois), Governor Dummer Academy
(Byfield, Massachusetts), and the Eastern Union County United Fund (Pennsylvania).
Dave's
Golden-based volunteer activities include the Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave, Clear
Creek History Park, Foothills Art Center, Golden Visitors Center, and Golden Civic Foundation. He
has served on the Colorado School of Mines Alumni Association Task Force, the CSM
History Committee and the Futures Task Force for the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra.
Dave is married to Runie G. Powers, the couple have two sons, David, Jr. And Brian.
